Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
There are 1.2 billion Catholics worldwide. Each year, many adults are called to join the Catholic faith through a process called The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults or RCIA. This is a process developed by the Catholic Church for prospective converts to Catholicism who are above the age of infant baptism. Candidates are gradually introduced to aspects of Catholic beliefs and practices. The basic process applies to adults and children who have reached catechetical age. For those who join an RCIA process, it is a period of reflection, prayer, instruction, discernment, and formation. There is no set timetable and those who join the process are encouraged to go at their own pace, taking as much time as they need. If you are interested in learning more about the RCIA process, please contact the parish office.
